Daphne Lundi is an urban planner, climate policymaker, writer, and artist. She currently runs an independent consultancy, working with cities, nonprofits, and universities on climate and urban planning initiatives. Previously, Daphne served as Deputy Director at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, leading a team focused on shaping climate policies related to extreme heat mitigation, open space access, and transportation sustainability.
Beyond policy, Daphne’s work extends into the arts, exploring the role of craft in storytelling about the built environment and arts-based strategies for processing the impacts of climate change. She was an inaugural Public Scholar at the Moynihan Center at The City College of New York, where she developed a curriculum examining the intersections of science fiction and city planning.
She holds a B.A. in sociology from Wellesley College, a certificate in material science from Olin College of Engineering, and an M.S. in community and regional planning from The University of Texas at Austin. She has taught urban planning courses and design studios at Hunter College, The City College of New York, and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. She was a Year 8 member of NEW INC and a Bandung Resident at MoCADA and A4.
